Systemic biases, disparities in care and people with ADHD Sadly, if you or your child belong to an ethnic or minority group, you might have noticed that ADHD is sometimes diagnosed and treated differently.40 Health care providers sometimes overlook ADHD symptoms in Black and Latino children.41 Even when they are diagnosed, Asian and Hispanic children often don't get treatment as often as White and Black children. 40This means these kids may not get the help they need.
